Features of spring electroplating nickel:

  1. The electroplated nickel layer has high stability in air, because nickel metal has a strong passivation ability, it can quickly form an extremely thin passivation film on the surface, which can resist the corrosion of atmosphere, alkali and some acids.
  2. Electroplated nickel crystals are extremely fine and have excellent polishing properties. The polished nickel plating gives a mirror-like glossy appearance while maintaining its luster for a long time in the atmosphere. Therefore, electroplating is often used for decoration.
  3. In electroplating, because electroplating nickel has many excellent properties, its processing volume ranks second only to electrogalvanizing, and its consumption accounts for about 10% of the total nickel production.
  4. The hardness of nickel plating is relatively high, which can improve the wear resistance of the surface of the product, and the nickel plating layer is commonly used in the printing industry to improve the hardness of the lead surface. Due to the high chemical stability of metal nickel, some chemical equipment also commonly uses thicker nickel plating to prevent corrosion by the medium. Nickel plating layer is also widely used in functional aspects, such as repairing worn and corroded parts, and using brush plating technology for local electroplating. It uses electroforming process to manufacture electroforming plates, record molds and other molds in the printing industry. The thick nickel plating layer has good wear resistance and can be used as a wear-resistant coating. In particular, in recent years, composite electroplating has been developed, which can deposit composite nickel coatings with wear-resistant particles, which have higher hardness and wear resistance than nickel plating. If graphite or fluorinated graphite is used as dispersed particles, the obtained nickel-graphite or nickel-fluorinated graphite composite coating has good self-lubricating properties and can be used as a lubricating coating. Black nickel coating also has a wide range of applications as a coating or decorative coating for optical instruments.
  5. Nickel plating has a wide range of applications, which can be used as a protective decorative coating, on the surface of steel, zinc die-casting, aluminum alloy and copper alloy, to protect the matrix material from corrosion or play a bright decorative role; It is also often used as an intermediate coating for other coatings, and a thin layer of chrome or imitation gold layer is coated on it, which has better corrosion resistance and more beautiful appearance. In terms of functional applications, nickel plating is about 1~3mm thick on parts in special industries, which can achieve repair purposes. In particular, it is increasingly widely used in the continuous casting of crystallizers, molds on the surface of electronic components, die-casting molds for alloys, and the manufacture of complex aerospace engine components and micro electronic components.
